Electronics Company Implements Secure File Link Sharing on Windows Server for Leak-Proof Collaboration

SCENARIO

J Company is an electronics provider that shares a lot of sensitive information using file link sharing through Google Site and Google Drive.

They need a solution that can prevent all of their shared files from being leaked by the users that are accessing their corporate data. They are mainly using File Link sharing on Google services such as Google Site and Google Drive but do not have File Link sharing capabilities on Windows Server.
J Company also has branch offices in China which means that simply encrypting data would fall under strict regulations. In order to avoid the hassle, they need protection in some other form.

SECUDRIVE Product

SECUDRIVE File Server 6.0

Requirements

• Protect files from being copied, printed, screen captured, or transferred through the network when sharing using File Link sharing
• Prevent data leaks without sacrificing overall workflow and efficiency
• Solution cannot be an encryption solution in order to avoid heavy regulations in China
• Detailed monitoring of file use and user activity

Why SECUDRIVE?

SECUDRIVE provides advance data leakage protection security while allowing J Company to maintain their current method of file sharing. By doing so, work flow is not affected and files will not be leaked through careless mistakes or malicious intent.

File Link Sharing Protection

J Company primarily uses File Links when sharing data between their branch offices using Google Site or Google Drive. After implementing FS 6.0, they can share File Links in Windows Server with other users in a protected state because they will not be able to copy, print, screen capture, or transfer data through the network. Only authorized users will be able to access the files from the File Links using the FS PC Client.

Strictly Rights Management

FS 6.0 is a strictly a rights management solution where it controls the users’ ability to copy, print, screen capture, and transfer data through the network. This is important for J Company because they have branch offices in China where the use of encryption technology is heavily regulated and only products approved by the Office of State Commercial Cryptography Administration (OSCCA) in China can be used. So J Company implemented SECUDRIVE FS 6.0 in order to be able to protect their data without having to worry about OSCCA regulations.

Detailed Monitoring and Logging

FS6.0 is able to monitor file, user, and manager activity for all servers from a central console. All logs can be filtered for specific file activity, and monitoring capabilities include real-time activity monitoring, viewing of connected users, and data traffic monitoring.
