A Tech Company Implements Leakage-Prevented Data Transportation to Comply With Partner’s Security Requirements.
An energy company, K Energy, required a solution that provides a secure work environment to their employees who are working remotely in developing countries. To discover new energy sources, employees often go to remote locations where network connection is rather scarce. However, current data security solution does not allow for offline use of PCs.
Initially, they have implemented a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution; however, it does not function without an internet connection. Therefore, the employees are left with work environment that is either unprotected or dysfunctional.
K Energy requires a solution that can monitor and track employees’ work activities even when offline, while protecting the their VDI solution from data leaks.
- Prevent data from being leaked when sharing or transporting data
- Compatibility with cloud servers
- Safe data transport in offline environment
- Detailed monitoring and logging of all file and user activities
Secudrive provides T Company a solution that allows them to go about their business as usual while complying with B Inc.’s security requirements. T Company can still use their current file sharing via cloud servers and USB drives, while simultaneously monitoring, logging, and controlling users’ rights to copy, print, screen-capture, and transfer files through the network.
T Company uses a cloud server to share data, but without any data leakage protection. They prefer not to move their files in order to abide by B Inc.’s security requirements. Once they installed File Server 6.0, they were able to use their current cloud server configuration with peace of mind when sharing files.
Offline Data Transport
When employees need to export and transport files from the server when the cloud server access is not 100% guaranteed, they can securely export the files from File Server 6.0 to Secudrive USB Office+. USB Office + carries the same data leakage prevention as File Server 6.0, which prevents the files from leaving the USB drives freely.
Even though the USB drives are remotely managed and typically require a network connection, they can be used offline while being protected from data leaks, as the they are password-protected, hardware-encrypted, and protected from unauthorized copying. Also, all activities are logged even while offline and are synced back to the management console once the network connection is restored.
DETAILED MONITORING AND LOGGING
From one central console, File Server 6.0 monitors file, user, and manager activities within all servers. All logs can be filtered by specific file activities, and the information on the connected users and data traffic can be monitored real-time.
